Prof. Franz Lahnsteiner is our expert in the area of fish biology. He finished his PHD thesis 1991 at the Zoological Institute of the University of Salzburg. Since 1991 he searches and teaches at Salzburg University. One of his main research interests is the reproductive biology of fish. In the field of applied research he closely cooperates with the Bundesanstalt für Wasserwirtschaft in Scharfling (Mondsee) and the fish farm Kreuzstein. In the field of applied research he concentrates on artificial maturation and quality control of fish gametes, artificial fertilization, cryopreservation and ongrowing and onfeeding of fish larvae. He is in the steady referee board of different scientific journals and author of more than 150 peer reviewed, scientific publications.
